After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to the Umbwe Gate, the starting point of our trek. The trail ascends steeply through dense rainforest, offering glimpses of Kilimanjaro‘s majestic peaks through the foliage. Arrive at Umbwe Camp, nestled in the forest, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp

Today’s trek takes us through the moorland zone, where the landscape transitions from lush forest to open heath. The trail climbs steadily, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. We’ll reach Barranco Camp in the afternoon and settle in for the night.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

We’ll start the day with a challenging climb up the Barranco Wall, a steep rock face that rewards climbers with stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape. After conquering the wall, the trail levels out as we traverse the alpine desert to Karanga Camp, our home for the night.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Today’s trek takes us to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before our summit attempt. The trail ascends steadily through rocky terrain, with Kilimanjaro’s glaciers looming overhead. Arrive at Barafu Camp in the afternoon and rest up for the night.

Day 6: Summit Day and Descent

Rise before dawn for the final push to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. The trail winds its way up the steep scree slope, with the rising sun painting the sky in vibrant hues. Reach the summit and savor the breathtaking views before beginning the descent back to Barafu Camp. After a brief rest, we’ll continue our descent to Mweka Camp, where we’ll spend our final night on the mountain.
